Orange Sky
Awoke yesterday morning to a very eerie orange glow coming through the curtains. Looking out the window all we could see was this orange sky.
It was like there was a bushfire around or something, however we couldn’t smell smoke. What we did feel was a little choked and had a ‘gritty’ feeling in our throats. We went outside to discover it was dust in the air. We were blanketed by a massive dust storm. We had never seen anything like it here on the coast before. This picture was taken looking toward the lake. This was taken at 8.30am, normally the streetlights would be well out by then.
Everything was glowing orange/yellow. You could feel the dust in the air, under your feet & on your skin. This picture was taken from inside, and shows the orange glow coming through the curtains. This was taken at about 8.30am.
Going to the shopping centre today you could have been forgiven for thinking we were in the middle of the Northern Territory, every car was covered in red dust, so to was the ground.
