ABBA – 40 years on

I had heard little bits and pieces yesterday about ABBA reforming, just the clips on the car radio, this morning as I was browsing facebook there it was on my newsfeed, the most bizare and yet most awesome comeback photo ever!

ABBA, 40 years on, dressed in thier high-tech digital suits, standing in their formation we are all accustomed to. It put the biggest smile on my face…why, who knows. But it just made me smile with thoughts of my childhood, thoughts of simply enjoying music without a care in the world.

I clicked on the link and had a listen, sure enough it had that same homely feel to the sound, a sound that can transport you to wherever you needed to be, make you feel whatever you needed to feel. It had enough difference to make sure you knew this was new, but enough familiarity to make you feel connected.

The quote in the article that made me giggle was

“We took a break in the spring of 1982 and now we’ve decided it’s time to end it,” ABBA said

Indeed it is time to end it, and what perfect timing. What I truly believe the world needs right now is ABBA, 40 years on dressed in virtual reality suits singing new music! Am I right or am I right? I think right now is the right time to release a follow up to your album released 40 years ago. Thank you!

Do yourself a favour head over and read the article and have a listen to ‘Don’t Shut me down’ by ABBA.
